On Saturday, Prescot and Odyssey 1st XI headed to Cheshire Lines looking to continue their winning ways. On what can only be described as the worst pitch of the year captain Greg Galbraith won the toss and elected to bowl which turned out to be a great decision.

Mason (6-11) and Dean Fairclough (1-17) made run scoring look extremely difficult. Cheshire Lines struggled to handle the difficult pitch and failed to take their opportunities when they came, eventually capitulating to 93 all out. Matt Connolly, Mark Duncan and Rob Magee all chipping in with 1 wicket apiece.

Facing a tricky target Crookes and Danson quickly moved the score onto 23 before Danson was harshly adjudged LBW when it looked as though it had hit the thigh pad.

This setback however was not catastrophic as Peter Crookes safely negotiated the difficult pitch to finish 46 not out.

He was ably assisted by Adam De Gray Birch (14) and Shaun Haigh (15 not out) with P&O comfortably winning with 94 for 3. The result leaves the 1st team joint top with Norley Hall who they play next Saturday at Burrows Lane.
