CLOCK Face Miners produced a spirited second-half display to come from behind to take a 14-10 win against visiting Barrow Island.

The first half was an array of missed chances for both teams either due to mistakes or stout defending in the National Conference League Division Three encounter.

With seven minutes to go to the break, Luke Leyden was sin-binned and the visitors were quick to take advantage of the extra man with a try out wide.

The full-back converted to give the visitors a 6-0 half-time lead.

The second half started well for Clock, who had been edged out at home by Woolston Rovers the previous week.

A piece of inventive play by Jack Highcock, chipping over the defence, led to a try for Carl Lucas.

Minutes later and Clock scored again as Lewis Geraghty put clear Karle Hunt, who passed to the supporting Leyden to stroll in between the sticks.

A penalty to Clock extended Highcock’s tally to three kicks before Barrow scored a late try.
