There was a record attendance at Saints’ Heritage Society’s Annual Programme and Memorabilia Fair last Saturday at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The enjoyable occasion, with a good rugby league and sporting vibe, raised monies for a worthy cause.

Alex Service of the Saints’ Heritage Society said: "I would like to thank everyone who made the day such an unqualified success: the St Helens club for their excellent organisation, despite following on from the Catalans game the previous evening, the stall holders.

"And also the following individuals: Linda Garvey, Dave Dooley, Bill Bates, Josh Taylor, Adrian Lawrenson and Curtis Johnstone for their invaluable help on the day itself.

"A special mention should go to former Saints’ Director Joe Spencer for his support for the event.

"Thanks also to Dave Dooley, Paul Cunliffe, Geoff Lee, St Helens RFC and the St Helens Star [Mike Critchley] for their publicity efforts.

"The Saints’ Heritage Society stall realised the sum of £450 for the Steve Prescott Foundation.

"It is extremely important to publicise and patronise events of this nature to keep them up and running.

"It helps to keep the proud heritage of our great game alive and that is so important. Looking forward to next year? You betcha!"
