RAINHILL claimed their first Liverpool Competition Premier Division win of the season after beating Leigh by 55 runs at Beech Walk. 

Ross Higham hit 70 as the visitors were dismissed for 150 before Jamie Harrison (4-20) and Khalid Usman (4-39) combined to bowl Leigh out for just 87.

Half-centuries from Rainford's John Dotters (61) and Matthew Bailey (67) helped the hosts to declare on 255-8 from 49 overs. Three wickets apiece for Andrew Pickavance (3-31), Andrew Davies (3-35) and Jason Login (3-0) wrapped up a 74 run win.

Newton le Willows were skittled for just 34 by Wallasey who eased their way to a nine wicket win. 

St Helens Town are propping up Division One after only James Marrable (28) reached double figures in their innings of 67 all out against Bootle who completed a ten wicket win.
