DECEMBER 1 and the first opportunity to open a door on the Saintly Advent calendar.

Each morning between now and Christmas Day we will be publishing a team picture from the club's proud history.

The club this year marks its 150th year - so we have plenty to select from.

Hopefully this regular daily feature will trigger memories of the supporters, players and their families.

This one is of the Saints 1991-92 team led by the enigmatic Mike McClennan.

The team had beaten Wigan in the Lancashire Cup semi-final before going on to beat Rochdale Hornets in the final at Wilderspool.

The Lancashire Cup was always the first knockout pot up for grabs in the rugby league season.

This was the last time Saints won it, with the following year's final being the last ever.

Door number 2 will reveal another Saints teamshot tomorrow.
