TOWN returned to Ruskin Drive for another glamour fixture after the recent European away tie with TSV Ulbach in Stuttgart.
Town started well in front of an impressive crowd of 173 and matched a youthful Chester FC XI in a tight first quarter as Friday Night Football came to Ruskin Drive in this pre season friendly.
The deadlock was broken on 25 minutes with a Chester opener but Town fired back with a powerful Liam Beech header on 40 minutes.
The second half saw Town take the ascendency as Manager Paul Piert rotated his squad.
As the lights came on it was left to youngster Ellis Daverin to fire home from close range on 84 minutes to take the spoils for Town against a team several steps above them in the Non League Football pyramid.
Special thanks go to Chester CEO Keiron Sheil who brought a Chester XI to face his home town club.
Town team: Rugg, Lea, Dixon (C), Rockford, Newton, Roby, Hart, Beech, Diggle, Jackson, Murphy. Subs: Long, Hughes, Daverin, Panther, Greene C, Greene D, Daverin, Ikin, White, Cook, Peterson, Garrett.
