FRIDAY night's derby with rivals Wigan Warriors is heading for a home sell-out with Saints having fewer than 150 tickets remaining in the home stands.

Unless the teams meet in the Challenge Cup or the play-offs this will be the last time the sides will meet this year.

And there is a clear appetite among the fans to hopefully see Saints avenge the tight Good Friday derby loss at the hands of the Warriors.

Saints coach Paul Wellens said: "The atmosphere will be unbelievable on Friday, it's great that we're getting back to the level that these games are selling out again.

"The way the team has been playing and the success that we've had in recent years and Wigan's resurgence and how competitive they are now, means that these derby games are at the forefront of everybody's mind.

"That's not just the supporters of St Helens and Wigan but everybody involved in rugby league whether on this side of the world or not, the Saints Wigan game is one you want to tune into.

"The fact we are heading for a sell out is evidence of that."

Friday's game between Saints and Wigan at the TWS kicks off at 8pm.
