IT is sad to report that former Pilkington Recs, Wigan, Leigh, Rochdale and Great Britain under-24 forward Brian Dunn has died, aged 60.
The St Helens-born second rower began his career on the City Road playing fields with Recs under 19s prior to signing professional with Wigan.
Dunn made his Wigan first-team debut against his hometown club at Knowsley Road on Boxing Day 1982 - with his last game for the Cherry and Whites also against Saints three years later.
He played 50 games for Wigan - with the most memorable being the 1985 Challenge Cup Final against Hull at Wembley on 4 May 1985.
Dunn lined up in the second row for Wigan in a pack Featuring two other St Helens-born forwards in Brian Case and Ian Potter.
After leaving Wigan Dunn continued with Rochdale Hornets and Leigh prior to his retirement from the game.
