RAINHILL'S resurgance in the Premier League of the Love Lane Liverpool Competition has stretched to another win with victory at bottom side Formby.

The hosts must have felt confident after declaring on 253-6 with Imliwati Lemtur's 3-81 the pick of the figures. 91 from Sam Kershaw and an unbeaten 62 from Robert McKeown ensured the visitors chased the target down for the loss of five wickets. 

Newton le Willows were left frustrated by a stubborn Ormskirk after Ben Walkden hit an unbeaten 107 and shared a partnership of 111 for the third wicket with Rizwan Haider (64) which allowed the hosts to declare on 243-5. Afaq Ali Sartaj's 3-47 saw the visitor's reply falter but they saved the draw finishing on 160-8. 

Rainford are third in Division One after a six wicket win over Fleetwood Hesketh. Spin twins John Dotters (5-53) and Andrew Davies (5-53) finished with identical figures as the hosts were bowled out 139. Opener Matthew Bailey saw his side home with an unbeaten 61. 

Sutton lie just outside the Division Two promotion places after a sixth win out of nine games. Thunder's Nat Brown was the star taking 5-20 as Prestatyn were dismissed for 115 before Jack York's unbeaten 63 secured a nine wicket win.

St Helens Town won a low scoring clash at Norley Hall with William Griffiths' 34 the highlight as the visitors were dismissed for 117. Griffiths then took 3-29 and Sharan Rajendran 5-15 as Town wrapped up a 57 run victory. 

In the Southport and District League Haydock suffered a heavy defeat to Whitefield after they were bowled for just 68 with the visitors knocking off the runs with five wickets down. 

Prescott and Odyssey's Harry Rigby hit 51 but only one other player hit double figures as they were dismissed for 126 by Merseyside Commonwealth Conference who wrapped up a five wicket victory.
