SAINTS' comprehensive win over Warington on Friday and Wigan's defeat in France on Saturday means that the three-peat champions are the only remaining unbeaten team after five rounds of Super League.

But coach Kristian Woolf believes there is still more to come from his side, particularly as the new spine is still bedding in together.

St Helens Star:

Defensively Saints were resolute, limiting to the try-less Wolves to just one first half penalty.
It was a tense, tough game - as the casualty list shows - but the margin was quite emphatic at the end.

Woolf said: "To Warrington’s credit they turned up and defended really well tonight and made it hard for us.

"Jonny Lomax and Lewis Dodd both did a really good job and combined really well with Jack Welsby at the back and the two nines.

St Helens Star:

"As a 9, 6, 7, 1 they have outstanding all year and are only going to get better as they get more time together and more combination.

"That is exactly what they are showing.

"We were not quite as good at different times with how we put our sets together – but when we had to find points and got those opportunities those blokes found us points and Jonny was a big part of that.

St Helens Star:

"It was a strong performance and a strong win and we put a little bit of a marker down there to say where we are at, at the start of the year.

"We have to keep building on that, we have improvement in us there is no doubt about that.

"There are a few things we can look at that game where we were not quite as disciplined, or did not quite nail a pass, but once we get those things right we are going to be very hard to beat.

St Helens Star:

"What is important is we realise what has got us in a good position and have worked really hard and we are only going to get better."
