SAINTS wing Regan Grace is expected to be back in the fold within the next two weeks, coach Kristian Woolf explained today.

The Welsh flier has missed the first four rounds of this season after needing surgery on a bicep injury picked up in training.

Saints have coped well without him, but will relish having his pace back on the flank before March is out.

Woolf explained: “He is not too far off, a week or two I would think. He has a little bit to get through yet in terms of what he does physically with us, that is why I don’t want to commit to a timeframe.

He has still got some things to get ticked off with the doctor, but he’s certainly close and not too far away.

In Grace’s absence Saints have seen Will Hopoate and Josh Simm share two games apiece on the right wing with Tommy Makinson switching to the left outside Mark Percival.

With edge runner Sione Mata’utia thrown into the mix it has made for quite a formidable left edge unit in attack and defence that has given the coach plenty to think about.

“It does give us a bit of food for thought, but first and foremost I am going to have to make sure the players are comfortable wherever I put them," Woolf said.

"So I will have a discussion with both Tommy and Regan about who is comfortable on the right and the left.

“Once we get through that I will make a decision on what is the best balance for the team.

"Either way we have two really world class wingers there.

"It doesn’t not change too much – they are going to help wherever they are and both have a great try scoring ability and great speed that helps them defensively and both do a great job in how they carry out of yardage.

“We will figure that out accordingly in the next couple of weeks.”
