SAINTS half back Theo Fages has signed for Huddersfield Giants in 2022 on a three-year-deal.

The 27-year-old French international has been at Saints for six seasons and has been a key member of the squad that won the last three Betfred Super League Grand Finals and this year's Betfred Challenge Cup Final at Wembley.

Fages broke his shoulder in the cup final - but remained a popular member of the group.

He was seen running the water for the team at Old Trafford on Saturday.

St Helens Star:

Fages joined the Club ahead of the 2016 season from Salford and has gone on to make a total of 140 appearances, scoring 39 tries – including in his last appearance for the Saints against Castleford Tigers at Wembley as Saints won the Challenge Cup for the first time in 13 years.

St Helens Star:

Fages said: “I want to thank everyone at St Helens for the past six years including all the staff my teammates and the fans, I have made so many friends for life.

“The past six years have been the best of my career.

"I was gutted to pick up my injury mid-way through this season but to play my part in winning three Super League titles in a row plus the challenge cup has just been a dream.

“Everything comes to an end and I leave the club with so many amazing memories from this great club and town, but I am looking forward to a new challenge at the Huddersfield Giants next year.”

St Helens Star:

The club have previously documented that with success and the rise in stock of young players at Saints, comes salary cap constraints.

The club state: "Although the Club is disappointed to see Theo move, we all wish him well for the future."

Lewis Dodd will slot into the number seven berth he has handled so well since July.

Fages joins, Lachlan Coote, Kevin Naiqama, Joel Thompson, James Bentley, Josh Eaves and Nico Rizzelli who all depart the club.
