SAINTS’ Jack Welsby says he is fit to play following a scare during last Friday’s semi-final win over Leeds.
Last year’s Grand Final match-winner came off clutching his shoulder after recoiling from a big shot on Leeds’ heavyweight Konrad Hurrell.
But the 20-year-old Super League Young Player of the Year has trained today and has come through fit ahead of Saturday’s Grand Final with Catalans Dragons.
Welsby said: “It was just a bit of a weird one really and I was probably trying to punch too much above my weight with Konrad Hurrell and caught him a bit funny.
“My shoulder is totally fine now it was just the impact more than anything.
“I have had my first training session of the week and got through fine, pretty much perfect.
“So, I am all ready to go.”
