A DOMINANT performance saw St Helens Women comfortably book a place in their maiden Women's Grand Final as the quest for the treble continues.

They beat Castleford 58-0 in the play-off semi at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Sunday after getting control of the game early on.

Player of the match Jodie Cunningham sent centre Carrie Roberts rumbling through the Castleford defence to open the score on two minutes.

And that set the tone with a game of one-way traffic, built on the back of the sheer dominance in the middle and skill among the play-makers allowing those outside to exploit the openings.

Paige Travis, Tara Jones and Cunningham scores, all unconverted, made it 16-0.

After a high kick was allowed to bounce Leah Burke reacted quickest to score.

Cunningham grabbed her second try with a break up the middle before Chantelle Crowl had the last word of the half to make it 32-0.

Castleford started the second half stronger but Saints hit them on the counter when Jones sprinted from half way following a spilled ball.

Then Rachael Woosey's break created the opportunity for Travis' second try of the game..

Burke's second and one from Woosey was followed by Burke completing her hat-trick.

Cunningham was outstanding, and Burke took her tries well in an outstanding team effort.

But Channy Crowl and Victoria Whitfield put in huge shifts, eating up big yards to lay the platform.
