SAINTS were due to have another round of Covid tests yesterday and all being well with no further positive cases they expect to return to training on Thursday.

They have been forced to postpone their previous two home league games - against Hull KR and Huddersfield - due to Covid in the camp.

With around eight to nine positive cases among the whole squad and club staff arising from Wembley, any first team player among those, who tested positive, will have to sit out the trip to Hull FC on Monday.

Aside from Theo Fages, who broke his shoulder at Wembley and is ruled out for the year, Saints have recovered from their Wembley injuries.

Lachlan Coote, who was seen in a protective boot on the homecoming, is fit to play.

Coach Kristian Woolf explained: "Lachlan Coote had a lower ankle sprain and would have been in doubt for the game against Hull KR last Friday – but would have been clear for Huddersfield.

"It was a fairly minor injury and he will be fine for Hull FC.

"Joe Batchelor had a head knock and Joel Thompson did cop a knock quite late in the game as well.

"They have all come through quite well from what was a tough, physically intense game – and then add the heat on to that.

"The fatigue the players were under at the end of the game you are always going to get bumps and bangs.

"They had all recovered really well by the time we had come to prepare for last Friday and Hull KR."
