BILLINGE'S Harry Coppell will be representing Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics after retaining his British pole vault title in Manchester.

He had already seen off the rest of the field with a with a third-time clearance of 5.70 when he attempted to break his British record of 5.85m.
The 24-year-old had set that at these championships on his way to victory last year, he set the bar at 5.86m but couldn’t clear it.
Still, another British title and booking an Olympic place was not a bad return for the former Chapel End school pupil.
