THE Australian press are reporting that Saints second row Joel Thompson is set to call time in his career – half way through a two-year contract.
The Mole, on Wide World of Sports, is reporting that the NRL veteran of stints at Canberra Raiders, St George Illawarra Dragons and Manly, will retire at the end of the season.
The Mole writes: “The 32-year-old has told the Saints that his body is starting to let him down and he has personal matters back home to attend to at the end of this season.”
Thompson joined Saints at the start of the year as a replacement for Zeb Taia.
