SAINTS will have wing Tommy Makinson and experienced forward Joel Thompson back for Friday's Challenge Cup quarter final against Huddersfield.

Makinson has been out for two weeks with a foot injury, while Thompson missed the Leigh trip with a long-term niggle.

In other positive news Joe Batchelor is free to play at Headingley after no ill effects from the head knock sustained at Leigh.

Coach Kristian Woolf said: "Tommy will 100 per cent be available this weekend.

"Joel Thompson will also back in this weekend.

"He has been carrying a bit of a niggle since the trials. It was a weekend we thought we would have to give him a bit of a break because if we hadn’t it was probably something that would hang around all season, get more niggly and then start to affect his performance.

"He has done really well to get through it and play at the level he has, with the injury he has been carrying.

"Joel is terrific professional who gives you an 8 or 9 out of 10 every week with the way he handles himself defensively and how he carries the ball.

"He gets the little details around his role right.

"The week off and what that allows you to do with the extra treatment is going to be beneficial for him this week and going forward as well."

On Batchelor, who went off against Leigh, Woolf added: "He is completely clear and passed all of his tests and there was no concussion. He is ready to go this week."
