It was a mixed weekend for Billinge FC as the first team lost for the first time since grassroots football returned last month.
An understrength and under-par Storks were second-best to Crewe and lost 3-0 meaning they now need to win one of their two remaining games to get through to the knockout stages of the JB Parker Cup.
Up at Barrows Farm the reserves drew 2-2 with unbeaten league leaders Middlewich Town.
Coming from 1-0 down the young Storks went ahead 2-1 thanks to goals from Chikara Masutani and Michael Watkin but unfortunately a late equaliser denied them an excellent victory.
It was, however, a brilliant performance against a very experienced outfit and augurs well for the future of the club.
In the morning Billinge Under-16s went to the top of their division with a dominant 5-0 victory away at Bleak Hill Rovers Under-16s while the Under-13s championship decider saw the young Storks come from 4-1 down to snatch a 4-4 draw with Quarry Green Junior FC Under-13s.
This means the title will go to the last game of the season in two weeks' time.
Next Saturday Billinge travel to Lostock Graham in the JB Parker Cup while the reserves entertain Eagle Sports Reserves.
