ON this day in 2001, 20-year-old Saints debutant Micky Higham scored a try as Ian Millward’s team overcame a potential Challenge Cup fifth round banana skin up at Whitehaven.
Having defeated Wigan in the previous round, Millward rested stars like Keiron Cunningham, Paul Sculthorpe, Kevin Iro, Sean Long, David Fairleigh and Peter Shiels.
And that motivated the Marras to have a real crack at the Recreation ground in front of a vocal 4,750 gate.
