ST Helens Town's path through the early rounds of the FA Cup and FA Vase have been revealed.

They have been given a home draw in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup as they welcome fellow North West Counties League outfit Cammell Laird 1907 to Ruskin Drive on Tuesday, September 1.

In accordance with current coronavirus guidelines, however, the match will be played behind closed doors.

On the subject of the return of crowds, an FA statement read: "The FA is currently working closely with the Government on the return of spectators at football matches at FA National League System level.

"Unless the Government permits the return of spectators at football matches prior to the Extra Preliminary Round, matches in this round will be played behind closed doors, with no spectators in attendance.

"This position will be reviewed by The FA on an ongoing basis prior to each round of each Competition and updates will be provided as soon as possible."

The winners of the tie will travel to Northern Premier League side Mossley in the Preliminary Round on Saturday, September 12.

Meanwhile, Town have also been drawn at home in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase – they host North Ferriby on Saturday, September 19.

Should they progress, they will host either Golcar United or Northwich Victoria in the second qualifying round on Saturday, October 10.
