FOR several Warrington teams, Saturday signalled a welcome return to the football pitch.

With relaxed coronavirus restrictions allowing friendly matches to take place coming into force, Daten, Greenalls PSO and Eagle Sports took the chance to play their first matches since March.

Eagle played an intra-club friendly match between the first and reserve teams which finished 2-2 – Kris Bell and Luke Sutton on target for the firsts while Jordan Lockett and Tadgh Oran scored for the second string.

Greenalls also shared four goals with hosts St Martins, with Matt Ball and Przemek Staniszewski hitting the net for Greens.

Daten played out a goalless draw with Runcorn Sports but the Atoms’ reserves were 5-0 winners over their Golborne Sports counterparts, with all five goals coming courtesy of Sam Burns.
