PAUL Morris proved to be top dog on the day in the latest Newton-le-Willows Anglers Association competition.
The 9lbs 14ozs of bream and silvers landed by the Newton fisherman handed him first place in the third round of the Newton Tackle & Bait Summer League staged at Havannah Flash near Parr.
Result:
1st Paul Morris (Newton-le-Willows) peg 6, with four bream and silver fish for 9lbs 14ozs
2nd Ian Alexander (Burt Baits) peg 22, with silvers and two eels for 7lbs 5ozs.
3rd Graham Sixsmith (Matrix LTB) peg 3, with silvers for 6lbs 7ozs.
4th Denis Gillard (St Helens) peg 12, with silvers for 5lbs 14ozs.
