SAINTS’ first away game against Toronto Wolfpack – scheduled for Saracens Allianz Park – has been switched to Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Wolfpack say they were forced to make the switch after “significant changes were made to the agreed terms and conditions of the original agreed fixture at Saracens.”

Saints supporters who have already made arrangements to travel and stay in London for the weekend of 29 February have been asked to contact Toronto Wolfpack’s customer services.

Martin Vickers UK General Manager stated: “It is with great disappointment that we need to make this change but sadly it comes as a result of reasons outside of our control.

“We are extremely grateful for the support of Simon Moran, Stuart Middleton and Karl Fitzpatrick of Warrington for stepping into the breach to allow this fixture to happen.

“We must also thank St Helens, who have worked tirelessly with us to resolve this difficult issue we were faced with.

“We are fortunate that tickets have not yet been released for sale however should any fans have incurred any expenditure that isn’t able to be recovered, they should contact customerservices@torontowolfpack.com with evidence of such payments and the club will be in contact as soon as possible.

“We expect to announce details of ticket sales in the next week and look forward to a big crowd for the club’s first ever meeting with Super League Champions St Helens at the superb Halliwell Jones Stadium.”

Due to the conditions in Canada until late spring Wolfpack have to play their first three home games in England.

Saints will, however, play them again in Canada in early May.

The game will see champions Saints come face to face with the newly promoted Canadian outfit who boast dual code New Zealand international Sonny Bill Williams in their ranks.

There will also be a few familiar faces in the Wolfpack - including former skipper Jon Wilkin, plus ex-Saints Gary Wheeler, Andrew Dixon and loanee Gaz O’Brien.

Ticket details will follow.
