FIJI skipper Kevin Naiqama announced his arrival by scoring a try with his first touch of the ball on his Saints debut against Wigan.
It meant Saints got their campaign off to a fine start, beating champions Wigan 22-12 on the opening round of the season.
They were slowly knitting their team together, with a new full back in Lachlan Coote, getting used to a new half back pairing in Jonny Lomax and Theo Fages.
Their first away game saw them battle out a tough clash at Wakefield, which was nip and tuck until the 79th minute when Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook powered over from a Lomax pass to snatch a 24-18 victory.
Saints needed a second half rally after Konrad Hurrell had terrorised the home side to rack up a 22 -10 lead. The Saints front row union saw them home, with Alex Walmsley grabbing two and Luke Thompson dancing over for another to secure a 27-22 triumph.
A 26-4 away win at Salford and 26-0 over London was followed by an emphatic 40-12 victory at Huddersfield, scoring 24 without reply in the second half.

Saints were ticking over nicely in March and had another storming away triumph at Castleford, coming out 42-12 victors.
It was not all plain sailing – and they had to scrap for a 36-24 home win over Hull KR to end the month top of the league with their 100 per cent record intact.
