NO rugby club has celebrated more birthdays than Liverpool St Helens.
Today, Thursday, marks the 162nd anniversary of the formation of what was then called Liverpool Rugby Union Club.
Liverpool St Helens came to fruition in 1986 after the initial club had merged with St Helens Old Boys, St Helens RUFC and Old Lerpoolians.
On the field, LSH finished for Christmas in fine style as they came from 10-5 down to beat Heaton Moor 34-10.
Alex McBride was in excellent form as he scored 17 of the home side’s points, encompassing two tries, two conversions and a penalty.
Jamie Morris scored a try and kicked a conversion while further scores came from Chris Hull and Ruari Hennigan.
