The under 11s boys' team of Theo Cotter, Ben Genner, Ethan Colley and Eliagh Colley – as well as the cub's only under 11s girls runner involved, Nicola Anders – had fantastic runs over the mud.

At under 13s level, Gabriel Mullen, Will Vose, Liam Johnson, Joseph Colley and Charlie Griffiths represented the boys, while in the under 13s girls Lilly Birkett was first back for the team followed by Niamh Warring and Chloe-Leigh Mark.

There were only two St Helens Sutton boys competing in the under 15s race. Micheal Dobson performed well, finishing inside the top 15, and he was followed home by Thomas Sumner.

Lucy Clitheroe had a great run in the under 15s girls’ race and Charlie Roberts finished fourth in the under 17s men’s race.

Meanwhile, over in the sun of Lanzarote, John Appleton and Ian Costello had a great race in the Lanzarote 10km.
