MIKE Goulbourne led the way for St Helens Tri at the Snowdonia Marathon.

He overcame awful conditions to finish under 3hrs 10mins in the top 50.

David Isaac’s excellent 2019 marathon form continued as he finished under the 3:30 mark, while Ian Wright and Kevin Dunbar finished within a minute of each other in a little over 3:55.

Also competing were Lee Stinch, who clocked 4:11.52, Alan Ralfs (4:28:48), Louise Johnson in just over four-and-a-half hours and Helen Broderick, who comfortably beat the 5:30 barrier.

Dunbarn ran the St Helens Striders Trail 5 the following morning where he recorded 42:31.

However, James Nairn was the club’s star performer cracking the top 15 in 36:17, with Alan Mckeegan ducking under the 39 minute mark and Lucas Michael finishing in a little over 40 minutes.
