SAINTS Academy lost 20-16 to a late Sydney Roosters try on day 9 of their tour of Australia.
Playing the Roosters 30 degree heat, Saints took an early lead when Harvey McDaid sent winger Shay Martyn in for a try.
Roosters responded with three tries to lead 12-4.
Martyn dived over from dummy half to score his second to make it 8-12 at half time.
Roosters grabbed the first try of the second half.
But Lewis Dodd threw a pass on to the chest of Kian Naylor who ran a very good line to score.
Dodd's show and go before sprinting away to score for a smart individual try levelled it at 16-16.
But with two minutes remaining Roosters snatched the winning try.
