Bronze medal for Amy Livesey
ST HELENS jodoka Amy Livesey (-63kg) won Bronze medal at the Brasilia Grand Slam.
Livesey defeated Ryanne Lima (BRA) in round 2 before narrowly missing out on a place in the semi-final following defeat by the Asian-Pacific Champion Junxia Yang (CHN).
In the Repechage Livesey defeated multiple Grand Slam medallist Daria Davydova (RUS) to set up a bronze medal match against the Rio Olympic 5th placed player and former Pan American Champion, Mariana Silva (BRA).
It took Livesey a little over 90 seconds to defeat her opponent and win the bronze medal, her second career Grand Slam medal following bronze in Ekaterinburg in 2017.
