SAINTS boss Justin Holbrook has not found Salford’s surge to the Grand Final any big surprise.

He rates Salford, led around the park by newly crowned Steve Prescott man of Steel Jackson Hastings, highly.

And believes they come into the game with such momentum that his League Leaders will have to raise their game another level to end the season as champions.

Speaking at Old Trafford at the Grand Final press conference, Holbrook said: “Salford’s display at the DW was quality.

“I was not sure who would win it going into it, would Wigan bounce back or would Salford carry on their winning ways.

“But after 20 minutes there was only going to be one winner due to how well they played.

“Salford know their game really well and play to their strengths.

“I am not surprised they are here. They have been able to keep the same side on the park and that is a very good one. They have real balance across the park and work hard for each other.

“That is why we are going to be in a real battle on Saturday night.

“They are not going to be put off by us and know the way they want to play the game.

“They are in a good place and the players are riding a good wave at the minute.

“Momentum is a great thing and they have earned that.

“A lot of neutrals will be rooting for Salford and I am fine with that

“On the flip side I get to work with these boys every week. We know what we want to achieve and we want to win on Saturday as much as them.

“It is shaping up for a great game and it has been a great season. One more good game would do it justice.”
