SAINTS remain strong favourites with Super League title sponsors Betfred for Grand Final glory.

We are currently 8/11 with the bookie to win the ultimate prize at Old Trafford on October 12.

But one team who will certainly be out to try and spoil the party are arch rivals and current holders Wigan, who are second favourites at 11/4 after moving up to second in the Betfred Super League table.

Warrington, despite Challenge Cup success two weeks ago, suffered their sixth successive league defeat at the hands of form team Salford and have slipped to 9/2 to win the Grand Final.

The surprise package in the second half of the season have been the Salford Red Devil’s. Currently sat in 5th but on the same points as Warrington and Hull FC. They are currently on a six game winning run, and with their two remaining fixtures of Leeds and Hull KR, I think could easily finish 3rd and set up a home tie at the AJ Bell.

The Red Devils are 20/1 with Betfred to lift the trophy, with Hull FC a 25/1 shot and Castleford, who we turned over last Friday, at 33/1.

Never mind the odds though, what is important is Justin Holbrook gets his troops back on the straight and narrow and demonstrating their superiority over all comers.

We are after all the runaway League Leaders’ Shield winners and should be going into this final phase of the season on top of our game and full of confidence, despite the disappointment of Wembley.

People are always going to bring up the unravelling of last year, but I believe we will finish the job this time.

We are by far the best team in Betfred Super League and really need to remember that and just focus on performance and not the prize... that will take care of itself.

This Friday against Huddersfield is another opportunity to do this.

Again, with very little to play for other than cohesion, it will be interesting to see Justin’s team selection.

The Giants, following an outstanding win against the Catalans Dragons last week, will be out to secure their Super League survival, so will be no pushover.

I’m backing the Saints though, following a gutsy win against Castleford last week. It was far from a spectacle mind, as we downed the Tigers just 4-0 in front of an excellent home crowd who rightly hung around to watch James Roby and co lift the League Leaders Shield.

Anyway, I’m going for a Saints win by 18pts – which is 6/4 at Betfred.
