MERSEYSIDE'S crown green bowlers have reached the final of the BCGBA Inter County Championship for the first time since 1995.
They will play current holders Warwick and Worcester at the Carr Mill Hotel, East Lancashire Road, St.Helens, at 2pm on Sunday, 1 September.
The holders have won six of the last nine trophies and so will provide a formidable challenge.
Admission to the green is free and a crowd resembling the hundreds that watched the televised county classics of the 1980s.
The 12 players to represent Merseyside are Kevin Kearns, Andy Hayes, Anthony Gartside, Terry Glover, Peter Jones, Tex Allen, Craig Taylor, Liam McEgan, Mike Tunstall, Matty Gartside, George Curran and Robbie Hall.
