CAROLE James overcame a deficit of more than two minutes out of the lake to win her first age group title by 41 seconds.
She was one of seven St Helens Tri members contesting the Manley Mere Triathlon.
Robert Chesters came back from a crash on the bike course to take eighth overall with the second quickest run of the day, while Mark Derbyshire placed in the top 20 and Debra Rayment took fifth in her category.
