SAINTS are likely to be without Lachlan Coote for Saturday’s Challenge Cup semi-final against Halifax at Bolton.

The ace full back picked up a knee injury that forced him off the field against Wigan two weeks ago and he was one of 10 missing for the London game.

He is having a scan today, but Saints boss Justin Holbrook does not expect him to be back for the semi-final.

Holbrook said: “We are all good outside of Cootey.

“He picked up a bit of a knock against Wigan.

“He is getting precautionary scans today – I think he will be unlikely to beat the clock for Saturday.

“If Coote does not play, we have options and with having Danny Richardson back we could slot Jonny Lomax back there or the other two to consider would be Matty Costello or Jack Welsby.

“There are a couple of things we will look at the next couple of days.

“Everyone else who did not play will be right – and it will be great to have Robes back.”

There is a slight doubt over Morgan Knowles, who skippered the team in London on Sunday, after he took a knock in the tackle.

Holbrook added: “He is one of our best but just picked up a bang in the ribs from the London game.

“It is a bit early in the week but I can’t imagine him not playing.

“He led the team out – a tremendous honour for such a young guy at 22.

“He is one of our leaders at the club and very mature. He does a great job for us.”
