AARON Smith has been discharged from hospital with no serious injury, as scans reveal he sustained whiplash during Saints win over Warrington on Friday night.
Young hooker Smith left the field on a stretcher after a long delay and went straight to hospital inside the first five minutes of Friday night’s victory over Warrington.
The 22-year-old went down when trying to tackle Warrington’s loose forward Sitaleki Akauola and was placed in a neck brace, but the good news is he was discharged from hospital over the weekend with scans revealing no fracture, nerve damage or serious injury.
The results did reveal that Smith sustained whiplash to the neck, but if he continues to make positive progress, he has a chance to return to the squad for Friday’s trip to Hull FC.
