WARRINGTON Wolves' advance party had hammered out a message that they were waiting.....and after 80 minutes they still are.
In a game that had a bit of everything, Saints showed a toughness and resilience, and made their own statement that can play the game out of their own comfort zone after being tested by the robust tactics of their nearest challengers.
The win pushes Saints eight points clear at the summit - but also laid down a marker.
The win was achieved after overcoming the handicap of losing their only number nine Aaron Smith after less than three minutes.
They hung in, falling behind to three Dec Patton penalties, before Mark Percival levelled, with Luke Thompson powering over after chasing a Jonny Lomax kick and chase, to put them in front, with Alex Walmsley making sure with a crash over try.
Bernard Platt captured all the action displayed in this gallery.
