LYNETTE and George Houghton have improved immeasurably at the St Helens Tri swim sessions and reaped the rewards at the Ullswater Epic Lakes Swim on Father’s Day.
In the 2.5km distance Lynette finished in just over 52 minutes but George was the star of the mile race as he recorded a 29:09 on debut.
The Cholmondeley Castle Festival of racing provided plenty of cheer with Helen Broderick placing 14th in the 10k.
Thomas and Alan Ralfs finished 5th and 10th in the half marathon and Thomas was first junior home, a fine reward for the club’s youngest active coach. Meanwhile at the Cardiff ITU qualifier Sprint Triathlon Emma Austin set by far her best 5k rub split of the season so far, took third place in her age group and qualified for next year’s World Championships in Canada.
