RAINFORD made it five from five and maintain their position at the top of Liverpool Gin Liverpool Competition Division 1 with a seven wicket win at Old Xaverians. Skipper David Snellgrove took a remarkable five wickets for just three runs to finish off the home side for 149.

Matt Bailey then steered Rainford home with 49 not out.

Newton Le Willows stay just behind Rainford with a thumping 10 wicket win at Prestatyn. Four wickets from Dominic Chambers and three each from Sam Guest and Ben Walkden bowled the hosts out for 100. Newton’s young guns Walkden (57 not out) and Matty Hurst (38 not out) then brought their side home with ease.

Rainhill recorded another win in the Premier Division with Derbyshire’s Anuj Dal hitting 121 not out in their 210 for 7 against Colwyn Bay, Phil Veacock adding 31.

The Bay were then dismissed for 156, Qaiser Ashraf taking 3 for 49.

Sutton had a good win in Division 2 seeing off Hightown St Marys by 107 runs with Jamie Greener (53) and Adam Onion (45) the main contributors in their 15 all out.

Greener then took 5 for 8 and Liam Dodd 4 for 24 as Hightown were shot out for 43. St Helens lost by 71 runs at Liverpool. Jaidel Richardson claimed five victims as Liverpool were dismissed for 150 before St Helens Town were bowled out for 54.
