SAINTS coach Justin Holbrook hailed the club’s Magic Weekend experience at Anfield as “fantastic” and says he would be happy to see the event staged at the venue again.

In the final match of the first Magic Weekend event to be held at the home of Liverpool FC, Saints put Castleford Tigers to the sword 36-16 to ensure they go into this week’s Challenge Cup tie with momentum.

Saints took a large following down the East Lancs Road as thousands filled out the Kop.

Holbrook gave the Anfield experience a big thumbs up, saying: “It was fantastic, obviously we were really looking forward to going to the game.

“And obviously post-game with how well we played, the whole weekend was terrific.

“I’m happy for it to stay there (Anfield). I thought it was great to be able to play at Liverpool’s home ground and I just think the whole Magic Weekend is fantastic.

“We’ve got a few Liverpool fans in the team, they really enjoyed it and as a club being the closest to the venue, it was a great opportunity for us to play well and if we can get a few new fans out it that’d be great for our game.

“Wherever it goes I’m happy and I think it’s just a great concept.”
