ST HELENS Tri have enjoyed another productive week of racing. Peter Fairclough and Mark Riley have excelled at swimming and running for many years and made their mark at the ITU World Aquathlon championships in Pontevedra, Spain.

Competing in the same category, Peter finished seventh with Mark rounding out the top 10.

At the Wilmslow Triathlon Jennifer Pybis set the fastest run split in her age group en route to a time of 1:21:02 giving her 16th overall and second female home. Also recording age group podiums were Shirley Fox and Caroline Bones, both taking third in their divisions. Mark Turner led a strong team home at the Horwich Triathlon, going top-6 on the run and finishing 17th overall, while Azzam Taktak ran the Liverpool Spring 10k, where his time of 48:42 gave him a new PB by 20 seconds.
