TOBY King says he is putting all thoughts about his future at Warrington Wolves to the back of his mind.

The 22-year-old centre, who has played in all but one of The Wire’s games this season, is one of 12 first-team players who are off-contract at the end of 2019.

King enjoyed a breakthrough year under Steve Price in 2018 and insists he is happy at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

However, he says continued good performances mean his future will take care of itself.

“I’ve got to try and put it to the back of my mind,” he said.

“If I can take each week as it comes and look after my own performances, that sort of stuff will take care of itself.

“I’m happy here at the moment. I’m really enjoying playing for Warrington.”

The only time King has been missing from the Wire team was when he picked up a one-match suspension for his sin-binning in the opening game against Leeds Rhinos.

He is now back in his preferred position in the back line having played his first three games of the campaign in the second row and scored his first try of the season in Thursday's win at Wakefield Trinity.

It was a move that surprised many at the time but the England Knights international believes he will be a better player for the time spent in a more alien position.

“I feel like I’m getting in the groove now,” he said.

“Obviously I started the season in the back row and getting a week’s ban didn’t help.

“Back row was alright – a bit more tiring.

“There’s much more of a work load than there is at centre but I think I’ll be a better player for making all those tackles in the middle.

I’ve worked hard on my defence. Playing in the back row has helped that.

“Pricey is big on defence and he’ll always pull you up on it.

“I’ve been in the centres for the past two weeks now and I’m really happy to be back in there.”
