THIS weekend saw the curtain fall as the final cross country of the 2018/19 season, the prolific English Schools Cross Country Champions took place on a soggy Temple Newsam course in Leeds.

St. Helens Sutton A.C. superstar talent Charlie Roberts was the only club representative in the Merseyside School’s team, rounding out a fantastic first season for him under the guidance of coach Ray Vose and his dad Ian, as he came home first counter for the Merseyside team.

Out on the roads on Sunday and avoiding the wet weather of Saturday, a trio of Sutton athletes headed to Wigan for the Wigan Festival of Running.

In the Half Marathon, Tom Griffiths continued his great form to finish in third with a debut time of 1 hour 12.

In the 10 Miler, Ste Anders claimed 3rd as well, dipping under that one-hour barrier and setting a new personal best with 59:56.

While in the 5km, Leon Hill had an impressive top ten finish and a new PB with a time of 18:30.
