MARK Turner has been a revelation for St Helens Tri since joining the club in 2016 and won the club duathlon at Pimbo Industrial Estate.

Leading from the start, he was passed by bike specialist Dean Golba but pulled out a blistering final run to retake the lead and win, with Eddie Hirst following in third place, while Carole James held off Lynette Houghton to be first lady home.

Robert O'Shea was the club's leading light at the Liverpool half marathon as he finished in a time of 1:39:14, while Alan Mckeegan performed brilliantly at the St Helens 10k to be first club member home in 41:48. Other highlights included Mike Gregory beating the 45 minute mark by three seconds and Chris Dyson and Lisa Hirst recording new personal best times of 46:31 and 54:40 respectively.
