BLACKBROOK bowed out of the National Cup following another high scoring and entertaining encounter in West Yorkshire, losing 46-30 to Siddal.

Siddal raced away to a 24-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes. Scrum Half Jake Turner scored two with Sean McCormick and George Ambler also crossing.

Brook didn’t the towel in with finally getting some ball in their hands and began to find a way back into the game.

Jordan McManus evaded the defence to score and Lewis Martin bundled his way over from close range.

Aaron Hewitt added both conversions to reduce the arrears to 24-12 at the interval.

Siddal increased the lead following a break away try from Oliver Lewis.

Brook’s hooker Ian Honey crossed at the side of the posts leaving Hewitt with an easy conversion.

It was a case of you score, we score Jake Turner completed his hat trick before Cammy Tunstall scored next for Brook with Hewitt converting.

With 10 minutes remaining Turner crossed for his fourth try of the match. Brook gained possession from the re-start and Centre Mike Wynn scored with Hewitt’s fifth conversion the score was now 40-30 to Siddal and Brook were in with a chance.

Unfortunately, it was the home side who wrapped the scoring when Sean McCormick added his second try with two minutes remaining Rourke Wolley added his seventh conversion.

Mike Wynn was named as The Heatrek Man on the Match with Cammy Tunstall taking The Tisdalls Players Man of the Match.

It’s the opening game of the League campaign next for Brook as they travel to neighbours Haresfinch.
