SAINTS skipper James Roby gained three points for the second week running in the new Betfred Super League Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel awards.

Roby backed up his opening night display against Wigan with another top-drawe performance at Wakefield to clear at the top of the leader board.

This year the awards are being chosen by a panel of 21 former players and coaches with a member of the panel watching each Betfred Super League game in 2019 and award points to the three outstanding players: 3 points for their chosen stand-out performer, two points for the runner-up, and 1-point for their third ranked player.

The scores will be made public every week, until Round 22 in mid-July. After that, the poll will be hidden until the Awards Ceremony in October.

Roby's 103 metres and 44 tackles helped inspire Saints to a 24-18 victory against Wakefield to keep up the club's winning start to the year.

The other points went to Wakefield players Jacob Miller and Tom Johnstone.
