SAINTS four new boys will all get their first run out in Jonny Lomax's testimonial match against Hull FC on Saturday - but the return of Alex Walmsley will be greeted as enthusiastically as any of the new signings.

Walmsley, who has not played since breaking a bone in his neck in March, will run out against the Black and Whites in the club's only hit-out of the pre-season.

And coach Justin Holbrook is looking for the big man to blast off some ring-rust and clock up some game time after such a long absence.

Holbrook said: "Big Al has felt right since June last year — it has not like he has not been able to do anything before getting the all clear.

"He has been training as good as he can for a long time now.

"It will be great to just get him some minutes.

"That is the biggest thing because he will be rusty in terms of playing. But he has been fit and ready to play for a long time."

Saints will go with a 24 to 25 man squad for the match, with the core of the senior team playing 50-60 minutes with some of the younger players getting an opportunity towards the end

"We have had a full pre-season now and want to just have a good hit out.

"It is our only one; so it is important especially because we have some new players and it is important to get the combinations right on Saturday against Hull.

"We are only having one hit out and so that is the only chance to see our new players - Lachlan Coote, Kevin Naiqama, Joseph Paulo and Joe Batchelor - before round one.

"We have got everybody right, which is great. A few guys had some surgery in the off-season but all are ok to play on Saturday," Holbrook said.

Saturday's game against Hull FC kicks off at 2pm.
