JORDAN Clarke has been one of the fastest runners at St. Helens Tri for many years and solidified his reputation at the Central Lancashire New Year Half Marathon where he set an astounding time of 1:22:02.
The following Saturday saw the fourth round of the Manchester cross country league at Heaton Park.
In the ladies race Sheena Shearman gave a superb performance to be first club counter home by just six seconds from Lynette Houghton, with Christine Forber three minutes further back. Mark Turner opened his 2019 account in the men’s race with a blistering run to a sub-40 minute time as he led home David Isaac and Colin Dobbs.
Lynette also ran the Petzl Nightrunner hours after the XC and completed the forest course in under 90 minutes together with her son George while Chris Dyson finished in 1:18:37.
Diane Taktak rounded off the weekend at the East Lancashire 10k with a gritty run to a time of 59:56.
