ANOTHER fantastic display from Saints' Jack Welsby helped England Academy wrap up a 2-0 series win over Australia Schoolboys with an 18-6 win at Headingley.
The Saints Scademy player backed up last week's display at Leigh with two crucial tries.
England were trailing 6-2 to a Star To’a try when full-back Welsby produced a moment of magic to dart past the Aussies’ defence for a touchdown.
The on 33 minutes, Welsby crossed again - his fourth try in the two games against the Australia Schoolboys - to stretch the lead, which with a couple of Harry Smith goals made it 16-6 at half-time.
England dominated the second half, and some stubborn defence ensured the Australians were kept at bay.
Welsby, who made his senior Saints debut at the end of last season, said: “It is an unbelievable feeling - the best I have ever had. I’d just like to say thank you to all the boys for such a top effort and the coaches for an amazing two weeks.”
“I can’t wait to play the Aussies again, hopefully.”
