ST HELENS Striders Scott Robertson and Ian Wright travelled to Wales to tackle the Vale of Clwyd Half Marathon and their excursion was a successful one.
Robertson impressed the admiring locals with a third place finish in 1:30:11, while his trusted mentor Wright followed close behind in 1:36:07 for 6th place.
At Tatton Park in Cheshire, Katie Taggart and Kevin Cairns took on the 10k Yule Yomp.
Cairns battled against the icy weather and a tricky surface and a monumental hangover to complete the course in 52:31.
Taggart, smiling as ever, crossed the line in just under an hour.
Elsewhere, Kylie Barlow delighted her friends and family with a new PB of 75:06 in the Stockport 10 Mile race.
In the Ribble Valley, John Williams completed the rugged route of the Longridge 7 Mile Race in a time of 51:14.
